Gaim: AU, but the movie prequel and ending explains how it fits into the main series Incompatible due to a few elements, but for the most part they mesh.Īgito (TV Special + Movie): Fit with the series, minor incompatibility.

Ryuki: Possible alternative endings (Both the movie and the TV special). Kiva: Completely AU, incompatible with canon. Gaim: Movie Wars is canon, no known episode placement.įaiz: Completely AU, incompatible with canon endingīlade: Completely AU, incompatible with canon ending OOO: Movie is sort of canon, because the Fourze Movie Wars (which is canon) referenced an event here. All 3 movie wars Double portions are canon W: A-Z is canon, continuing directly from 45/46 IIRC. The Chou Den-O movie is set right after the Den-O episode as well, and the Den-O arc is just building up to it.

All Riders continue directly from where the episode end, and Movie Wars is set after the series. There isn't a specific place where they're set though.ĭecade: All Rider and Movie Wars are both canon. Set before episode 28, there was a 4-5 episodes arc developing the backstory behind it.Īll other Den-O movies are canon (or at least canon compatible), with the possible exception of the Kiva "crossover". Its au, but canon at the same time due to the ending).ĭen-O: Ore Tanjou. Kabuto: God Speed Love (the series eventually contradicted it near the end, but at that point the writer had no idea wtf they were doing). Hopefully someone else can come along with info on older Heisei and Showa series, where applicable. This is probably more detail than you were looking for but I hope it helps.

And Tsukasa being a sarcastic dick pretty much the entire time while eating a parfait shaped like Decade's face made by the fruit shop guy from Gaim. Heisei" is worth watching for Fifteen's design if nothing else. "Ultimatum" nicely closes the KRC character arcs left hanging, set post-series for Fourze. "Megamax" and "Ultimatum" are great for character reasons for all the main and support characters for all the involved shows. Momotaros and Ankh are priceless together. "Let's Go All Riders! OOO and Den-O" is cheesy and hilarious in all the best ways. The Accel movie is an hour of Terui brutally beating down motherfuckers all over the place. They're brilliant for the characters and the action is good too. Movies I would recommend after seeing their show? All of the W movies ("Movie War 2010" after 15 and "A to Z" after 44, rest are post series "Core", "W Returns: Accel" and "W Returns: Eternal") especially A to Z and Accel.

I can't speak for anything older (and I'm still working on Faiz and Hibiki) than these as of yet. It pulled a lot not just from the current show but reaching back to 555 (they even re-filmed elements of the ending for Takumi's flashbacks) and even further. But "Showa vs Heisei" was unique by necessity. Gaim's solo movie effort so far is AU crazy bullshit. The events from that movie are referenced in the climax of the series and then again in "Ultimatum" which bridges Fourze to Wizard. "Megamax" brings our Golden Trio together and finally gives us some continuity coherency for OOO, post series. And don't get me started on "Wonderful".įourze's movies do have continuity with the series and an impact at later points. "Core" is jarring because the W half is in-continuity to W (it takes place after the series ends) but the OOO half fucks with the series own timeline all over the place. OOO movies on the other hand, are far from in-continuity and barely coherent within themselves. Similarly, "Movie Taisen 2010" provides further context on Begins Night events and Shotaro's relationship with Sokichi and where Philip came from. For example, W's main movie "A to Z: The Gaia Memories of Fate" is in-continuity with the series and also provides a reason for a specific element of property damage that serves as a timeline for the last couple episodes.
